For over 17 years, Wilkins Farm and Coal, has been reliable source for anthracite, pellets, stoves/stove parts, mulch, and more throughout the Finger Lakes, including Seneca, Schuyler, Ontario, Wayne, Cayuga, and Tompkins counties. It is owned and operated by Kevin Wilkins. Tip of the Month
As we are winding down the 2025-2026 heating season, here are some reminders to keep your stove in pristine condition and ready for the next heating season:
When you turn off your stove your stove completely for the season
-Empty ash pan
-Remove all coal from stove
-Remove all coal from hopper
-Remove all debris from all the nooks and crannies
The stoves burned hard this season with the bitter cold and need a little TLC
*Coal and Coal ash contain an acid that can cause unnecessary wear and tear on your stove and stove pipe.*
Clean and Vacuum
-Stove, motors, pipes, glass. This allows you time to assess any repairs that are needed on your stove, stove pipe or motors. It allows time to plan and budget costs to get these repairs done before next heating season.
